The Observer was named the British Press Awards National Newspaper of the Year in 2007. Its supplements have twice won "Regular Supplement of the Year" (Sport Monthly, 2001; Food Monthly, 2006).

Observer journalists have won a range of British Press Awards, including

• "Interviewer of the Year" (Lynn Barber, 2002; Sean O'Hagan, 2003; Rachel Cooke, 2006; Chrissy Iley, 2008)
• "Critic of the Year" (Jay Rayner, 2006; Philip French, 2009)
