The National Debutante Cotillion And Thanksgiving Ball
The National Debutante Cotillion and Thanksgiving Ball of Washington, D.C. is an annual dance and formal debutante presentation of young ladies held in the Nation's capital.
The Cotillion was founded in 1949 by Miss Mary-Stuart Montague Price, daughter of Captain Allen Ingram Price, U.S. Naval Academy Class of 1917. Miss Price and Miss Elizabeth Stuart are co-chairmen of the event, which benefits the Children's National Medical Center.
Regional Chairmen from many states like, California, South Carolina, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas, recommend young ladies and their families for participation.
The 63rd National Debutante Cotillion will be held during Thanksgiving week of 2012.

Famous quotes containing the words national, thanksgiving and/or ball:
“What do we mean by patriotism in the context of our times? I venture to suggest that what we mean is a sense of national responsibility ... a patriotism which is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime.”
—Adlai Stevenson (19001965)
“My consciousness-raising group is still going on. Every Monday night it meets, somewhere in Greenwich Village, and it drinks a lot of red wine and eats a lot of cheese. A friend of mine who is in it tells me that at the last meeting, each of the women took her turn to explain, in considerable detail, what she was planning to stuff her Thanksgiving turkey with. I no longer go to the group.”
—Nora Ephron (b. 1941)
“It may be possible to do without dancing entirely. Instances have been known of young people passing many, many months successively, without being at any ball of any description, and no material injury accrue either to body or mind; Mbut when a beginning is madewhen felicities of rapid motion have once been, though slightly, feltit must be a very heavy set that does not ask for more.”
—Jane Austen (17751817)
