U.S. Theatrical Release and DVD
A shorter, re-edited version of the film also won a U.S. theatrical distribution deal from Wellspring, which was released at the end of summer 2004. The film had the highest per-screen average in its first opening weekend, grossing $50,601 in a limited U.S. theatrical release (5 screens). The film won approval from Sony Pictures Entertainment, which acquired multi-territory distribution rights of the film in February 2005. Sony also released the film on DVD in North America in August 2005. According to Ryan Werner (who had worked for Wellspring), this movie ended up being profitable for everyone involved, including Wellspring and Gallo himself.

Famous quotes containing the words theatrical and/or release:
“A Man who always acts in the Severity of Wisdom, or the Haughtiness of Quality, seems to move in a personated Part: It looks too Constrained and Theatrical for a Man to be always in that Character which distinguishes him from others.”
—Richard Steele (16721729)
“The near touch of death may be a release into life; if only it will break the egoistic will, and release that other flow.”
—D.H. (David Herbert)
