Tanis

Tanis ( /ˈtænɨs/; Ancient Greek: Τάνις; Egyptian: Djanet; Arabic: صان الحجر‎ Ṣān al-Ḥagar) is a city in the north-eastern Nile delta of Egypt. It is located on the Tanitic branch of the Nile which has long since silted up.
