The official name for the secondary school is St Paul's Secondary School, Heytesbury Street. The present building replaced a row of houses, used for class-rooms, and was opened in the late 1960s: it was extended in the 1980s. The school is situated on most of a city block and includes a Christian Brothers monastery which also houses a number of retired Brothers who have served in various other schools.

Famous quotes containing the words secondary and/or school:
“Readers are less and less seen as mere non-writers, the subhuman other or flawed derivative of the author; the lack of a pen is no longer a shameful mark of secondary status but a positively enabling space, just as within every writer can be seen to lurk, as a repressed but contaminating antithesis, a reader.”
—Terry Eagleton (b. 1943)
“What a wise and good parent will desire for his own children a nation must desire for all children.”
—Consultative Committee On The Prima. Report of the Consultative Committee on the Primary School (HADOW)
