Personal Life
Harmison currently lives in Ashington with his wife Hayley and their three daughters Alice, Abbie and Isabel, and their son, Charlie. A family man by nature, Harmison admitted to homesickness and missing his family each time the England team went on tour; in an interview with The Independent in 2005, he stated:
"I have a family. I have kids that need me around and they will dictate the decisions I make on my career....My international career will finish when my family needs me to be around a bit more."
He still remains a huge fan of football, and is a life long supporter of Newcastle United F.C.

Famous quotes containing the words personal and/or life:
“What stunned me was the regular assertion that feminists were anti-family. . . . It was motherhood that got me into the movement in the first place. I became an activist after recognizing how excruciatingly personal the political was to me and my sons. It was the womens movement that put self-esteem back into just a housewife, rescuing our intelligence from the junk pile of instinct and making it human, deliberate, powerful.”
—Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)
“The child-rearing years are relatively short in our increased life span. It is hard for young women caught between diapers and formulas to believe, but there are years and years of freedom ahead. I regret my impatience to get on with my career. I wish Id relaxed, allowed myself the luxury of watching the world through my little girls eyes.”
—Eda Le Shan (20th century)
