Early Life
Harmison was born and brought up in Ashington, Northumberland, and is the eldest of 3 brothers (the youngest, Ben Harmison, currently plays first class cricket for Middlesex, formerly for Harmison's current side, Durham..) As a teenager, Harmison played for his local football team, Ashington A.F.C., before deciding to concentrate on cricket.
