Social Model

A social, or socioeconomic, model, is the value system associated with the structure of a nation's political economy. It usually involves public policies that affect the welfare of a country's citizens in the framework of a market or mixed economy. There are no set rules that define a social model, only loose definitions characterized by certain attributes.

Famous quotes containing the words social and/or model:

As social beings we live with our eyes upon our reflection, but have no assurance of the tranquillity of the waters in which we see it.
    Charles Horton Cooley (1864–1929)

...that absolutely everything beloved and cherished of the bourgeoisie, the conservative, the cowardly, and the impotent—the State, family life, secular art and science—was consciously or unconsciously hostile to the religious idea, to the Church, whose innate tendency and permanent aim was the dissolution of all existing worldly orders, and the reconstitution of society after the model of the ideal, the communistic City of God.
    Thomas Mann (1875–1955)
