Ship Yard

Ship Yard is a rail yard on the Richmond District in Richmond, Virginia. It is just east of Triple Crossing. Ship Yard is not often used for putting together trains, but is more for storing empty cars, especially boxcars.

Famous quotes containing the words ship and/or yard:

Every man beholds his human condition with a degree of melancholy. As a ship aground is battered by the waves, so man, imprisoned in mortal life, lies open to the mercy of coming events.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

He slipped his hand and ran away!
    He hadn’t gone a yard when—Bang!
With open jaws, a lion sprang,
    And hungrily began to eat
The boy: beginning at his feet.
    Hilaire Belloc (1870–1953)
