Sheikhdom

A sheikhdom (alt. sheikdom) (Arabic: مشيخة‎ ) is a geographical area or a society (usually tribal), that is ruled by a sheikh (Arabic: شيخ‎). Sheikhdoms exist almost exclusively within Arab countries, particularly in the Arabian Peninsula.
