Scottish League Cup

The Scottish League Cup is a football competition open to all Scottish Football League and Scottish Premier League clubs. At present it is also known as the Scottish Communities League Cup owing to the sponsorship deal in place with the Scottish Government. In the past it has been sponsored by Coca-Cola, Skol Lager, Bell's whisky and Co-operative Insurance. The competition, like the Scottish Cup, is currently a straight knockout format.

Kilmarnock are the current holders after defeating Celtic at Hampden Park on 18 March 2012.

Currently, the domestic television and radio rights are held by BBC Scotland.

Famous quotes containing the words scottish, league and/or cup:

Better wear out shoes than sheets.
—18th-century Scottish proverb, collected in J. Kelly, Complete Collection of Scottish Proverbs (1721)

Stereotypes fall in the face of humanity. You toodle along, thinking that all gay men wear leather after dark and should never, ever be permitted around a Little League field. And then one day your best friend from college, the one your kids adore, comes out to you.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)

I know it does make people happy, but to me it is just like having a cup of tea.
    Cynthia Paine (b. 1934)
