Post-Senate Career
On February 13, 2013 Fox News Channel hired Brown as an on-air contributor.
Following Brown's defeat in the 2012 U.S Senate race there was wide speculation that he would run again in 2013 due to John Kerry resigning from the other Massachusetts Senate seat to become Secretary of State. However, on February 1, 2013, he ruled out undertaking a third U.S. Senate campaign in less than four years.
Because he owns a home in New Hampshire, Brown is eligible to challenge Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen, who is up for re-election in 2014. When asked if he would pursue this possibility, he stated, "I'm not going to rule anything out right now," to which a spokesman for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee reacted, “Is it possible to quote someone laughing?”

Famous quotes containing the word career:
“I seemed intent on making it as difficult for myself as possible to pursue my male career goal. I not only procrastinated endlessly, submitting my medical school application at the very last minute, but continued to crave a conventional female role even as I moved ahead with my male pursuits.”
—Margaret S. Mahler (18971985)
