Anuzis was a past candidate for RNC chairman and a player in national Republican politics since 1988. Anuzis lost by a margin of 69% to 30% to challenger Dave Agema. (The remaining 1% of the vote went to Gerald LaRouche.) Notable in this is that the delegation of each of Michigan's 14 congressional districts voted for Agema.
