Santa Cruz Operation - Company Culture

Company Culture

From its inception and founding by a University of California at Santa Cruz graduate, Doug Michels, the company drew upon the readily available technical talent who chose to remain in the central California coastal town of Santa Cruz after graduating. Employees referred to the company as "UCSCO" and were often seen strolling the halls naked or lounging in the company hot tub and sauna.

Famous quotes containing the words company and/or culture:

I hate the prostitution of the name of friendship to signify modish and worldly alliances. I much prefer the company of ploughboys and tin-peddlers, to the silken and perfumed amity which celebrates its days of encounter by a frivolous display, by rides in a curricle, and dinners at the best taverns.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

No race has the last word on culture and on civilization. You do not know what the black man is capable of; you do not know what he is thinking and therefore you do not know what the oppressed and suppressed Negro, by virtue of his condition and circumstance, may give to the world as a surprise.
    Marcus Garvey (1887–1940)
