Sam Schmidt Motorsports is an auto racing team in the IZOD IndyCar Series and Firestone Indy Lights owned by quadriplegic former driver Sam Schmidt. Ex-driver Davey Hamilton late joined with Schmidt in 2011 to form Schmidt Hamilton Motorsports. For 2013, Oculus Transport CEO Ric Peterson joined Hamilton and Schmidt, renaming it Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.
