Geographical Distribution
Rusyn (and more specifically Carpatho-Rusyn) is the vernacular spoken in the Transcarpathian Region of Ukraine, in northeastern Slovakia, in Vojvodina, in southeastern Poland (where it is often described as łemkowski 'Lemko', from their characteristic word лем / lem 'only', or Lyshak), in Hungary (where the people and language are called Ruthene) and in northern Romania (in northern Maramureș, where the people are called "ruteni" and the language "ruteană")

Famous quotes containing the words geographical and/or distribution:
“Mens private self-worlds are rather like our geographical worlds seasons, storm, and sun, deserts, oases, mountains and abysses, the endless-seeming plateaus, darkness and light, and always the sowing and the reaping.”
—Faith Baldwin (18931978)
“The man who pretends that the distribution of income in this country reflects the distribution of ability or character is an ignoramus. The man who says that it could by any possible political device be made to do so is an unpractical visionary. But the man who says that it ought to do so is something worse than an ignoramous and more disastrous than a visionary: he is, in the profoundest Scriptural sense of the word, a fool.”
—George Bernard Shaw (18561950)
