Royal Canadian Air Cadets - Flying

Flying

Throughout the spring and fall approximately 22,000 air cadets participate in familiarization gliding at regional gliding centres located across the country. Each summer, 320 cadets earn a Transport Canada Glider Pilot Licence through the Air Cadet Gliding Scholarship and 250 more earn a Private Pilot licence. The Air Cadet Gliding Program conducts approximately 60,000 glider flights annually in Schweizer SGS 2-33 and 2-33A gliders. The aircraft fleet used in the gliding program is owned by the Air Cadet League of Canada. The fleet, consisting of more than 100 gliders and tow planes is maintained by the Canadian Forces under a memorandum of understanding. Canadian Forces pilots and Civilian Instructors operate the fleet to train cadets.

Famous quotes containing the word flying:

Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more, know what I mean ...
—Monty Python’s Flying Circus. Monty Python’s Flying Circus (TV series)

All those who dwell in the depths find their happiness in being like flying fish for once and playing on the uppermost crests of the waves. What they value most in things is that they have a surface, their “epidermality”Msit venia verbo.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you’re chewing on life’s gristle
    Don’t grumble, give a whistle
And this’ll help turn things out for the best ...
And ... always look on the bright side of life.
—Monty Python’s Flying Circus. Mr. Frisbee III (Eric Idle)
