Rollerball Pen - Standards

Standards

The International Organization for Standardization has published standards for roller ball pens:

ISO 14145-1
1998: Roller ball pens and refills – Part 1: General use
ISO 14145-2
1998: Roller ball pens and refills – Part 2: Documentary use (DOC)

Most roller ball refills do not comply to the ISO 14145-2:1998 standard, meaning they are not approved for documentary use.

Famous quotes containing the word standards:

Our ego ideal is precious to us because it repairs a loss of our earlier childhood, the loss of our image of self as perfect and whole, the loss of a major portion of our infantile, limitless, ain’t-I-wonderful narcissism which we had to give up in the face of compelling reality. Modified and reshaped into ethical goals and moral standards and a vision of what at our finest we might be, our dream of perfection lives on—our lost narcissism lives on—in our ego ideal.
    Judith Viorst (20th century)

The home is a woman’s natural background.... From the beginning I tried to have the policy of the store reflect as nearly as it was possible in the commercial world, those standards of comfort and grace which are apparent in a lovely home.
    Hortense Odlum (1892–?)

With his brows knit, his mind made up, his will resolved and resistless, he advances, crashing his way through the host of weak, half-formed, dilettante opinions, honest and dishonest ways of thinking, with their standards raised, sentimentalities and conjectures, and tramples them all into dust. See how he prevails; you don’t even hear the groans of the wounded and dying.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
