Death
On 17 March 1999, Hull climbed onto the roof of his house in Winchelsea, near Rye, to adjust his television aerial during the Champions League football match between Internazionale and Manchester United. In his attempt to improve reception, he slipped from the roof and fell through an adjoining greenhouse. The 63-year-old entertainer suffered a severe skull fracture and chest injuries. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Conquest Hospital in Hastings. Following an inquest, the East Sussex Coroner, Alan Craze, recorded a verdict of accidental death.

Famous quotes containing the word death:
“Life is grown sweeter and lonelier,
And death is no evil.”
—Robinson Jeffers (18871962)
“Ive been cursed for delving into the mysteries of life. Perhaps death is sacred, and Ive profaned it. Oh, what a wonderful vision it was. I dreamed of being the first to give to the world the secret that God is so jealous of, the formula for life. Think of the power, to create a man. And I did, I did it, I created a man. And who knows, in time I could have trained him to do my will. I could have bred a race, I might even have found the secret of eternal life.”
—William Hurlbut (1883?)
“What we think of as our sensitivity is only the higher evolution of terror in a poor dumb beast. We suffer for nothing. Our own death wish is our only real tragedy.”
—Mario Puzo (b. 1920)
