Robot Navigation
This article describes the state of art navigation systems that exist in the field of mobile Robotics
Outdoor robots can use GPS in a similar way to automotive navigation systems. Alternative systems can be used with floor plan instead of maps for indoor robots, combined with localization wireless hardware. Electric beacons also have been proposed for cheap robot navigational systems.

Famous quotes containing the word robot:
“Lets start with the three fundamental Rules of Robotics.... We have: one, a robot may not injure a human being, or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. Two, a robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. And three, a robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.”
—Isaac Asimov (19201992)
