Rhea (bird) - Human Interaction

Human Interaction

Rheas have many uses in South America. Feathers are used for feather dusters, skins are used for cloaks or leather, and their meat is a staple to many people. The Rhea is pictured on the coinage of Argentina's 1 Centavo coin minted in 1987.

Famous quotes containing the words human and/or interaction:

    eyes that see a
    hand in the unclouded sky,
    a human hand, release
wet fire, the rain that gave
    my eyes their vigilance.
    Denise Levertov (b. 1923)

Our rural village life was a purifying, uplifting influence that fortified us against the later impacts of urbanization; Church and State, because they were separated and friendly, had spiritual and ethical standards that were mutually enriching; freedom and discipline, individualism and collectivity, nature and nurture in their interaction promised an ever stronger democracy. I have no illusions that those simpler, happier days can be resurrected.
    Agnes E. Meyer (1887–1970)
