Department of Conservation volunteer Mihai Muncus-Nagy, a 33 year old biologist from Romania, went missing on Raoul Island on 2 January 2012. He went to Raoul at the end of October 2011. His vehicle and gear was found close to where he was carrying out water temperature readings on the morning of 2 January 2012.
