Rampart Ties To Death Row Records

The Rampart Corruption Task Force investigators discovered that hip-hop mogul Suge Knight, owner of Death Row Records, had several of the corrupt Rampart officers on his payroll, including Kevin Gaines, Nino Durden, Rafael PĂ©rez, and David Mack. Knight was hiring off-duty Rampart police to work for Death Row as security guards for substantial amounts of money. Famous quotes containing the words ties, death, row and/or records:

The bond between a man and his profession is similar to that which ties him to his country; it is just as complex, often ambivalent, and in general it is understood completely only when it is broken: by exile or emigration in the case of one’s country, by retirement in the case of a trade or profession.
    Primo Levi (1919–1987)

You mustn’t be afraid of death. When this ship sailed, death sailed on her.
—Charles Larkworthy. Denison Clift. Anton Lorenzen (Bela Lugosi)

When I develop my recipes I always look for ways to create what I call the Big Taste. While I enjoy eating simple grilled foods, what interests me when I cook are dishes with a taste that is fully dimensional.
Paula Wolfert, U.S. cookbook writer. Paula Wolfert’s World of Food, Introduction, Harper and Row (1988)

My confessions are shameless. I confess, but do not repent. The fact is, my confessions are prompted, not by ethical motives, but intellectual. The confessions are to me the interesting records of a self-investigator.
    W.N.P. Barbellion (1889–1919)
