Radio Norwich is a fictional radio station in Norwich, England, in the television series I'm Alan Partridge. It contains elements from both BBC Local Radio and Independent Local Radio; it is unclear precisely what it is supposed to be, but the BBC is never referred to in the station's logo, jingles or idents.
The title character, played by Steve Coogan, can be seen on-air at the beginning of several episodes, usually hosting phone ins on various inane topics (for example: "Which is the best Lord: Lord of the Rings, of the Dance, or of the Flies?") Partridge can also often be seen bickering with DJ Dave Clifton (played by Phil Cornwell), who takes the slots after his own in both series of the show.
In reality Norwich and its surrounding county are served by BBC Radio Norfolk, and the two names are often confused. On 29 June 2006, a new radio station for Norwich, owned by the Tindle Radio Group, launched under the name of 99.9 Radio Norwich.

Famous quotes containing the word radio:
“England has the most sordid literary scene Ive ever seen. They all meet in the same pub. This guys writing a foreword for this person. They all have to give radio programs, they have to do all this just in order to scrape by. Theyre all scratching each others backs.”
—William Burroughs (b. 1914)
