Qurbani (1980 Film)
Qurbani (Hindi: क़ुरबानी) is a 1980 Indian Bollywood movie. The word "qurbani" means 'sacrifice' in Urdu: It refers to an animal sacrificed during Eid-Ul-Adha. It was produced and directed by Feroz Khan (under the banner of FK International). The film stars Feroz Khan, Vinod Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Amjad Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Amrish Puri and Kadar Khan. Feroz Khan can be credited for bringing Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor and Amrish Puri into mainstream Hindi movies by giving them exposure and critical roles in the movie. Khan wrote the dialogues. It was the biggest grossing film of 1980 and stayed at the top.
Qurbani's direction, urban setting, music and foreign locales, as well as upmarket images, made it stand out when it was released.
