Quervain Peak (67°23′S 66°39′W / 67.383°S 66.65°W / -67.383; -66.65) is a peak in the central part of the Boyle Mountains in Graham Land. Mapped by Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) from surveys and air photos, 1956-59, it was named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) for Alfred de Quervain, a Swiss glaciologist who in 1909 first applied photogrammetric methods to the measurement of surface glacier flow.

Famous quotes containing the word peak:

You know, I often thought that the gangster and the artist are the same in the eyes of the masses. They’re admired and hero-worshipped but there is always present underlying desire to see them destroyed at the peak of their glory.
    Stanley Kubrick (b. 1928)
