ECO Codes
The Encyclopaedia of Chess Openings classifies the Queen's Indian under codes E12 to E19 according to the following scheme:
- E12 – 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 b6
- E13 – 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 b6 4.Nc3 Bb7 5.Bg5
- E14 – 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 b6 4.e3
- E15 – 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 b6 4.g3
- E16 – 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 b6 4.g3 Bb7
