Queen Sirikit Gallery or Queens Gallery is an art museum in Bangkok, Thailand.
The gallery was established in 2003 after the request by Queen Sirikit of Thailand to found a permanent public exhibition and promote the works of acclaimed and young Thai artists. The gallery has a floor space covering 3,700 square metres and is set in a five-storey building.
Famous quotes containing the words queen and/or gallery:
“We have defined a story as a narrative of events arranged in their time-sequence. A plot is also a narrative of events, the emphasis falling on causality. The king died and then the queen died is a story. The king died, and then the queen died of grief is a plot. The time sequence is preserved, but the sense of causality overshadows it.”
—E.M. (Edward Morgan)
“To a person uninstructed in natural history, his country or sea-side stroll is a walk through a gallery filled with wonderful works of art, nine-tenths of which have their faces turned to the wall. Teach him something of natural history, and you place in his hands a catalogue of those which are worth turning round.”
—Thomas Henry Huxley (182595)
