History
Qingdao University opened in 1987 and included 15 faculties at that time. The current university however resulted from a merger of that institution with the Shandong Textile Engineering Institute (山东纺织工学院), Qingdao Medical College (青岛医学院) and Qingdao Teachers College (青岛师范专科学校) in 1993.
