QB VII was made into an American television six-and-a-half hour miniseries produced by Screen Gems; it was also the last program from Columbia Pictures' television division under the Screen Gems banner. It began airing on ABC on April 29, 1974. Adapted to the screen by Edward Anhalt, it was produced by Douglas S. Cramer and directed by Tom Gries. The original music was written by Jerry Goldsmith and the cinematography by Paul Beeson and Robert L. Morrison.
The series was nominated for thirteen Emmy Awards, winning six.
The poster for the series shows a gavel, even though they are not used in British courts.
The time frame was changed from the Six Day War in 1967 to the Yom Kippur War of 1973.
