Chamdo Prefecture officially Qamdo Prefecture also known as Changdu Prefecture (Tibetan: ཆབ་མདོ་ས་ཁུལ་, Wylie: chab-mdo-sa-khul, ZYPY: Qamdo Sakü; simplified Chinese: 昌都地区; traditional Chinese: 昌都地區; pinyin: Chāngdū Dìqū) is a prefecture in the eastern part of the Tibet Autonomous Region, containing the town of Chamdo. The capital of the prefecture is Chamdo County.
