Pskov Oblast (Russian: Пско́вская о́бласть, Pskovskaya oblast) is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast). Pskov Oblast borders the countries of Estonia, Latvia, and Belarus. It is the westernmost federal subject of contiguous Russia (i.e. excluding the exclave of Kaliningrad Oblast), and one of the only two bordering with three countries. Its major cities are the administrative center Pskov (pop. 202,000) and Velikiye Luki (pop. 104,000). Area: 55,300 square kilometers (21,400 sq mi). Population: 673,423 (2010 Census).
