Provincial Grand Master - Non-masonic Bodies

Non-masonic Bodies

The same offices are also found historically within the Orange Order, a Protestant organization which has close similarities to Freemasonry in terms of regalia and symbolism, both in Northern Ireland where it began, and overseas.

A later organization, which in part mimics the hierarchical structure of the Masons, is the Oddfellows. In the Manchester Unity (a leading branch of the organisation) a Provincial Grand Master holds an office between local Lodge and National level.

Other fraternal organizations such as the Buffaloes, while retaining the Central Committee/Intermediate Strat/Lodge structure, use equivalent terms such as Provincial Grand Primo.

Famous quotes containing the word bodies:

    Hear me, auld Hangie, for a wee,
    An’ let poor, damned bodies bee;
    I’m sure sma’ pleasure it can gie,
    Ev’n to a deil,
    To skelp an’ scaud poor dogs like me,
    An’ hear us squeel!
    Robert Burns (1759–1796)
