Famous quotes containing the words pitt and/or meadows:
“The little I know of it has not served to raise my opinion of what is vulgarly called the Monied Interest; I mean, that blood-sucker, that muckworm, that calls itself the friend of government.”
—William, Earl Of Pitt (17081778)
“When daisies pied and violets blue,
And lady-smocks, all silver-white,
And cuckoo-buds of yellow hue
Do paint the meadows with delight,
The cuckoo then on every tree
Mocks married men, for thus sings he:
Cuckoo!
Cuckoo, cuckooO word of fear,
Unpleasing to a married ear.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
