Periodic Table (vertical)

The vertical periodic table is a standard periodic table rotated counter-clockwise and then mirrored across the vertical axis, so that the lower groups are to the left and the number increases to the right. Due to the rotation and the incorporation of the lanthanides and actinides into the main table, the Alternative Table is significantly longer vertically than the Standard Table. Its restricted width allows it to be read on-line without needing to scroll horizontally. It also allows more information in each cell such as the full name of an element.

Famous quotes containing the words periodic and/or table:

But parents can be understanding and accept the more difficult stages as necessary times of growth for the child. Parents can appreciate the fact that these phases are not easy for the child to live through either; rapid growth times are hard on a child. Perhaps it’s a small comfort to know that the harder-to-live-with stages do alternate with the calmer times,so parents can count on getting periodic breaks.
    Saf Lerman (20th century)

When the painted birds laugh in the shade,
When our table with cherries and nuts is spread:
Come live, and be merry, and join with me
To sing the sweet chorus of ‘Ha, ha, he!’
    William Blake (1757–1827)
