Student Life
All students are required to live on campus in one of four dormitories: Haygood Hall, Branham & East, Jolly Residential Center, and the newest residence hall, East Village, which opened in 2008 with LEED Gold environmental certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Oxford has a daytime and a night-time dining service. The Williams Gymnasium has an indoor hybrid basketball, volleyball, and badminton court, an indoor track, indoor pool, weight room, and aerobic studio. There are also ten tennis courts and a regulation soccer field on campus. The Fleming Woods and hiking trails owned by Newton County surround the campus.
Emory University's bus routes provide service between the Atlanta campus and the Oxford campus.

Famous quotes containing the words student and/or life:
“When I tried to talk to my father about the kind of work I might do after college, he said, You know, Charlotte, Ive been giving a lot of thought to that, and it seems to me that the world really needs good, competent secretaries. Your English degree will help you. He said this with perfect seriousness. I was an A student at Bryn Mawr ...”
—Charlotte Palmer (b. c. 1925)
“All my life long I have been sensible of the injustice constantly done to women. Since I have had to fight the world single-handed, there has not been one day I have not smarted under the wrongs I have had to bear, because I was not only a woman, but a woman doing a mans work, without any man, husband, son, brother or friend, to stand at my side, and to see some semblance of justice done me. I cannot forget, for injustice is a sixth sense, and rouses all the others.”
—Amelia E. Barr (18311919)
