Open Source Cloudware Initiative
In May 2010, OW2 and its three founding members, INRIA, Groupe Bull, and France Télécom, launched the OW2 Open Source CloudWare Initiative. It is a community project designed to create an open, integrated suite of cloud computing infrastructure components based on open source software. The consortium opened the project to non-member contributors willing to donate open source code with permissive licensing and work to integrate their code with the rest of the OW2 Cloudware Stack.

Famous quotes containing the words open, source and/or initiative:
“A temple, you know, was anciently “an open place without a roof,” whose walls served merely to shut out the world and direct the mind toward heaven; but a modern meeting-house shuts out the heavens, while it crowds the world into still closer quarters.”
—Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
“Life has no other discipline to impose, if we would but realize it, than to accept life unquestioningly. Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, denigrate or despise, serves to defeat us in the end. What seems nasty, painful, evil, can become a source of beauty, joy and strength, if faced with an open mind. Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such.”
—Henry Miller (1891–1980)
“A shocking crime was committed on the unscrupulous initiative of few individuals, with the blessing of more, and amid the passive acquiescence of all.”
—Tacitus (c. 55–120)
