Cost
Each patron must purchase a $2 Fringe Pin, which is valid for the entire festival. No admittance will be granted to a ticketed performance unless the patron is wearing a Fringe Pin. The proceeds from selling the pins help to defray the costs of putting on the festival.
Most performances are ticketed events, and require the purchase of a ticket on top of the Fringe Pin. Tickets generally cost $10, and each performance's opening show is usually a two-for-one special. For those attending multiple shows, discounted admission is available in the form of five- and ten-show passes, for $40 and $70 respectively. In keeping with the core mandate of the Canadian Association of Fringe Festivals, one hundred percent of the proceeds from ticket sales go to the performers.

Famous quotes containing the word cost:
“It is not enough for theory to describe and analyse, it must itself be an event in the universe it describes. In order to do this theory must partake of and become the acceleration of this logic. It must tear itself from all referents and take pride only in the future. Theory must operate on time at the cost of a deliberate distortion of present reality.”
—Jean Baudrillard (b. 1929)
“History is strewn with the wrecks of nations which have gained a little progressiveness at the cost of a great deal of hard manliness, and have thus prepared themselves for destruction as soon as the the movements of the world gave a chance for it.”
—Walter Bagehot (18261877)
“[M]y conception of liberty does not permit an individual citizen or a group of citizens to commit acts of depredation against nature in such a way as to harm their neighbors and especially to harm the future generations of Americans. If many years ago we had had the necessary knowledge, and especially the necessary willingness on the part of the Federal Government, we would have saved a sum, a sum of money which has cost the taxpayers of America two billion dollars.”
—Franklin D. Roosevelt (18821945)
