Osgoode Ward (Ward 20) represents the south end of the City of Ottawa and solely made up of residents of the former Osgoode Township. The current city councillor is Doug Thompson.
It contains Greely, Osgoode, Metcalfe, Edwards, Kenmore, Vernon and portions of Manotick.
For the 2006 election, the boundaries will be changing to add much of rural southern Gloucester to the ward. The previous boundary was along the former Osgoode Township line, Mitch Owens Road. The new boundaries follow an uneven line further north adding the communities of Ficko, Limebank and Johnston Corners.
Famous quotes containing the word ward:
“There were times when I felt that I could bear no more. It was the Emergency Ward which almost broke me. I stood one night beside a man who had been caught in a flywheel, and whose body felt like jelly. I wanted him to die quickly, not to go on breathing. Oh, stop breathing. I cant stand it. Die and stop suffering. I cant stand it. I cant.”
