Open Artwork System Interchange Standard
OASIS (Open Artwork System Interchange Standard) is a language used by computers to represent and express an electronic pattern for an integrated circuit during its design and manufacture. The language defines the code required for geometric shapes such as polygons, rectangles and trapezoids. It defines the type of properties each can have, how they can be organized into cells containing patterns made by these shapes and defines how each can be placed relative to each other.

“The child ... stands upon a place apart, a little spectator of the world, before whom men and women come and go, events fall out, years open their slow story and are noted or let go as his mood chances to serve them. The play touches him not. He but looks on, thinks his own thought, and turns away, not even expecting his cue to enter the plot and speak. He waits,he knows not for what.”
—Woodrow Wilson (18561924)
“Psychoanalysis is an attempt to examine a persons self-justifications. Hence it can be undertaken only with the patients cooperation and can succeed only when the patient has something to gain by abandoning or modifying his system of self-justification.”
—Thomas Szasz (b. 1920)
“What men have called friendship is only a social arrangement, a mutual adjustment of interests, an interchange of services given and received; it is, in sum, simply a business from which those involved propose to derive a steady profit for their own self-love.”
—François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (16131680)
“When Freedom, from her mountain height,
Unfurled her standard to the air,
She tore the azure robe of night,
And set the stars of glory there;”
—Joseph Rodman Drake (17951820)
