Heisserer also served as the first player-coach of the club, coming out of retirement to play during his final season at the club. The longest-serving manager in terms of time was Aimé Mignot, who managed Lyon for 8 years from 1968 to 1976. Alain Perrin, who managed the club from 2007–2008, was the first Lyon manager to achieve the double.
