Olivia Hussey - Early Life

Early Life

Hussey was born Olivia Osuna in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Joy Alma (née Hussey), a British legal secretary and Andrés Osuna (aka Osvaldo Ribó), an Argentine tango singer, who divorced when Olivia was two.

She was brought up as a Catholic, and when she was seven years old, Hussey and her younger brother went with their mother to live in London, where she attended the Italia Conti Academy drama school for five years. Hussey later said her biggest fear in Romeo and Juliet (1968) was appearing nude.

Famous quotes containing the words early life, early and/or life:

... business training in early life should not be regarded solely as insurance against destitution in the case of an emergency. For from business experience women can gain, too, knowledge of the world and of human beings, which should be of immeasurable value to their marriage careers. Self-discipline, co-operation, adaptability, efficiency, economic management,—if she learns these in her business life she is liable for many less heartbreaks and disappointments in her married life.
    Hortense Odlum (1892–?)

The conviction that the best way to prepare children for a harsh, rapidly changing world is to introduce formal instruction at an early age is wrong. There is simply no evidence to support it, and considerable evidence against it. Starting children early academically has not worked in the past and is not working now.
    David Elkind (20th century)

I think of horror films as art, as films of confrontation. Films that make you confront aspects of your own life that are difficult to face. Just because you’re making a horror film doesn’t mean you can’t make an artful film.
    David Cronenberg (b. 1943)
