Oliver Wilkes

Oliver Wilkes, (born 2 May 1980 in Ulverston, Cumbria) is an English born Scottish professional rugby league footballer for the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats club of Super League. A Scotland international representative forward, he has played for Sheffield, Huddersfield, Keighley, Leigh, Whitehaven, Wigan, Widnes, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats where he played all games but one due to a training injury, and Harlequins.

Wilkes was a consistent feature within the 2009 Wakefield Trinity Wildcats squad and they managed to secure a fifth place finish within the Engage Super League reaching the play-offs.

During 2006 he played with Widnes in the 2006 Grand Final. After the season he required reconstructive shoulder surgery. In 2007 he scored 15 tries in 34 games with Widnes.

He was named to the Scotland training squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup and was named to the full Scotland squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup. He scored the winning try over Fiji in Scotland's first ever World Cup win.

Wilkes has won caps for Scotland while at Keighley Cougars, Leigh Centurions, Widnes Vikings, and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats 2003…present 7-caps + 1-cap (sub).

Wilkes is the current leader of consecutive appearances in Super League.
