OC Policies
The university is guided by six "defining values": Faith, Scholarship, Integrity, Stewardship, Liberty and Leadership. OC retains a commitment to traditional biblical principles as expressed through the "Oklahoma Christian Covenant" which emphasizes that the "values and behavior of this Christian community are derived from the Bible." The covenant is described by the university as "not a creed demanding strict belief in its veracity and inerrancy, and it is not merely an ideal to which we aspire; rather, it is a personal commitment that while we are members of this community, we will abide by the principles and ideals set forth in the covenant. The purpose of our covenant is to unite all of us at Oklahoma Christian University – students, staff, faculty, administration, and Board of Trustees – in a Christian community that is based on biblical principles and that transforms lives for Christian faith, scholarship, and service." Attendance at OC is open to all students, regardless of religious affiliation, who agree to abide by the ideals of the covenant. Full-time faculty and staff are required to be active members of a church of Christ. Attendance at daily chapel services (with a set number of allowed absences) is mandatory for all full-time students. The university does not permit alcohol or illegal drug usage or possession, sexual promiscuity in any form is not tolerated and students are expected to "dress modestly" at all times. Dormitories enforce visitation regulations and a curfew for freshmen.

Famous quotes containing the word policies:
“... [Washington] is always an entertaining spectacle. Look at it now. The present President has the name of Roosevelt, marked facial resemblance to Wilson, and no perceptible aversion, to say the least, to many of the policies of Bryan. The New Deal, which at times seems more like a pack of cards thrown helter skelter, some face up, some face down, and then snatched in a free-for-all by the players, than it does like a regular deal, is going on before our interested, if puzzled eyes.”
—Alice Roosevelt Longworth (18841980)
