Oakwood Tube Station - Transport Connections

Transport Connections

A free bus service for Middlesex University students to the nearby Trent Park campus runs from the station. Public buses also run from outside the station - 307 to Barnet, Arkley Hotel (soon to be Barnet Hospital) westwards and to Brimsdown station eastwards, 121 to Enfield Lock eastwards and to Turnpike Lane station southwards, and 377 which starts from Oakwood station and heads to Ponders End bus garage. A local mini cab firm, Oakwood Cars, operates from the station ticket hall, and when the station is shut operates from a black cab permanently situated in the station's car park.

Famous quotes containing the words transport and/or connections:

One may disavow and disclaim vices that surprise us, and whereto our passions transport us; but those which by long habits are rooted in a strong and ... powerful will are not subject to contradiction. Repentance is but a denying of our will, and an opposition of our fantasies.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

The conclusion suggested by these arguments might be called the paradox of theorizing. It asserts that if the terms and the general principles of a scientific theory serve their purpose, i. e., if they establish the definite connections among observable phenomena, then they can be dispensed with since any chain of laws and interpretive statements establishing such a connection should then be replaceable by a law which directly links observational antecedents to observational consequents.
    —C.G. (Carl Gustav)
