Live
Before release of Use Your Illusion I, the song was first played live at Deer Creek Music Center on April 29, 1991. "November Rain" has been a staple at Guns N' Roses concerts ever since it was released in 1991. The song is usually preceded by Rose, sometimes playing "It's Alright" by Black Sabbath or "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" by Elton John on piano. On the Chinese Democracy Tour, each of the guitar solos is played by a different guitarist. Robin Finck (2001) or Richard Fortus (2002–present) plays the first one, Finck (2001–2007) or DJ Ashba (2009–present) plays the second one, and Buckethead (2001–2002) or Bumblefoot (2006–present) plays the final solo.
The band performed the song with Elton John on piano at the 1992 VMAs.

Famous quotes containing the word live:
“We live less and less, and we learn more and more. Sensibility is surrendering to intelligence.”
—Rémy De Gourmont (1858–1915)
“The difference between a Republican and a Democrat is the Democrat is a cannibal—they have to live off each other—while the Republicans, why, they live off the Democrats.”
—Will Rogers (1879–1935)
“Women of fashion and character—I do not mean absolutely unblemished—are a necessary ingredient in the composition of good company; the attention which they require, and which is always paid them by well-bred men, keeps up politeness, and gives a habit of good-breeding; whereas men, when they live together without the lenitive of women in company, are apt to grow careless, negligent, and rough among one another.”
—Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)
