Natural Attractions

The North West region has very unique attractions. The second highest mountain in West Africa is in Oku, and there are a lot of rare birds, such as the distinctive red crested Bannerman's Turaco, that are unique to this region. It also has many crater lakes (Lake Oku, Lake Awing and Lake Nyos) The largest remaining mountain forest is the Kilum-Ijim Forest. There is the Menchum FallsThere is also the abbi fall in mbengwi momo division, and the Lake Nyos near the Kumfutu and Nyos villages, Cameroon.

Famous quotes containing the words natural and/or attractions:

The natural historian is not a fisherman who prays for cloudy days and good luck merely; but as fishing has been styled “a contemplative man’s recreation,” introducing him profitably to woods and water, so the fruit of the naturalist’s observations is not in new genera or species, but in new contemplations still, and science is only a more contemplative man’s recreation.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The world,—this shadow of the soul, or other me, lies wide around. Its attractions are the keys which unlock my thoughts and make me acquainted with myself. I run eagerly into this resounding tumult. I grasp the hands of those next to me, and take my place in the ring to suffer and to work, taught by an instinct, that so shall the dumb abyss be vocal with speech.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
