Under Construction Art Magazine

Under Construction is North Hennepin Community College’s annual arts and literary magazine. Founded in 1969, the publication has earned 29 national awards for Graphic Design and writing. Some awards Under Construction has won include six first-place awards, two second-place awards and one third-place award in the Community College National Literary Magazine competition and also nine first-place awards in the Society for Professional Journalists Competition which includes four-year colleges throughout the Midwest .

The 2011 issue of Under Construction recently won third place in the Central Division of the Community College Humanities Association Literary Magazine Competition.

The literary and design staff consists of volunteer student editors.

Realities

Realities is an annual multicultural publication of non-fiction memoirs of student experiences crossing cultural boundaries .

Strategic Plan

NHCC's recently updated mission, vision, and values, along with MnSCU strategic direction, helped to guide NHCC's 2011-2014 strategic plan. The goals of the plan focus on: 1) access, opportunity, and success; 2) innovation and relevance; 3) culture of commitment; and 4) workforce and community.

Points of Pride

Points of Pride is an annual publication that highlights current things that NHCC is most proud of regarding our students, campus, degrees and certificates, and flexible course delivery options. It also mentions our notable distinctions, honors, achievements, and innovations.

NHCC Magazine

Fall and spring issues of the college magazine are published each year. It features student and alumni success stories, compelling faculty and staff profiles, and credit and non-credit class listings. Nearly 180,000 households and businesses in the northwest metro area receive a copy in the mail.

Student eNews and eTips

Students enrolled at NHCC receive bi-monthly newsletters and weekly tips by email. The newsletter contains important information on current and upcoming events. The tips provide resources that can help students with their education, career, and/or personal goals .
