Renovation and Expansion Plans
Current expansion projects include the:
- Second Avenue Subway on the Upper East Side of Manhattan
- 7 Subway Extension to the west side of Manhattan
- Fulton Center in Lower Manhattan
In August 2006, the MTA revealed that all future subway stations, including ones built for the Second Avenue Subway and Flushing Line extension, will have platforms outfitted with air-cooling systems.
