Famous quotes containing the words adopted and/or city:

Although all new ideas are born in France, they are not readily adopted there. It seems that they must first commence to prosper in a foreign country.
    Sarah Bernhardt (1845–1923)

    Overcome the Empyrean; hurl
Heaven and Earth out of their places,
    That in the same calamity
Brother and brother, friend and friend,

    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
